  • Fundraisers included:

  • Thank you to AHS Staff and the community for help raising/donating:

  • Fundraising goes to help the Sparrow Program

    • 11th year doing Sparrow Program

      • Goal of raising $15,000 for her medical expenses, etc

3 – Committee Reports

A – Treasurer Report – Teresa Greeno

  • Transition from Michael Holcomb stepping down
    • Renewals last month
    • $1,188.38 in funds
    • Ended last year budget in black

B – Community Partnerships / Communications – Brian Merritt

  • New Construction in community
  • Website is updated (we want AHS donation info)
    • If you want your info on the website, email Brian
  • Curves-Jenny Craig video shown

4 – State of the Association Annual Report – ABA President Sally Fabre

  • Board met at Sally’s home Saturday January 5th, 2019
  • Video:  “Every Meeting Ever”
  • Membership – removing the $480 premier level, lack of interest
    • Going back to the basic $100 and $60 memberships
    • Annual Billing – billed when year up.
      • If 60 days lapsed since invoice due, you are removed from website and Eblasts
      • Teresa will contact if non payment and bill will be sent to address
      • After 60 days payment received, treated as new member
      • Hope to increase face to face communication
      • Membership incentive – if you bring a member and member joins you get $5 gift card
      • Refer 5 new members who join and your fee is waived for the year
    • Membership responsibilities
      • Keep us up to date on contact info
      • Spotlight speaker sign up
      • Suggestions for meetings
      • Sponsorship and participation at community events
      • Let us know your gifts and talents
      • Special website articles on your area of expertise
      • Adopt a Road participation
      • Post pictures of your business on ABA facebook page, Instagram, website – SHARE!
      • Like each others businesses on social media
      • Post good news happening in Aloha and share it on the ABA facebook and instagram
      • Check in when you visit a local ABA member on facebook and SHARE your experience
    • Community events
      • Proposed Town Hall in March/April – Conflict Resolution
      • Proposed Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social – July 21st
      • We will need a committee to handle each of these events
      • At events members have access to the 10×10 ABA Tent
        • Sign off on liability form
        • Liability insurance will be sponsored this year by Agape Community Insurance

5 – Testimonials

  • Westside Cruisers – Farmers Market booth was beneficial, good contact with community
  • A. Terrones – Heard a “Teacher of the Year” being recognized on Radio from Aloha, that was great to hear!
  • M. Chen – Ponderosa Meats has a good selection

Guest Introductions:

  • M. Chen – marketing pro for the consumer food industry,  Laid off, opened Beaverton Business Review and saw the ABA Luncheon, and came to open up networking.
  • R. Bradley – Mackley Auto Group –  Car Dealership – consignment, sales and shipment.  A portion of sales goes to Aloha Sparrow Program and Aloha Youth Football

6 – Announcements –

  • ABA Business Member of the Month – Curves – video shown
  • Tim Tebow Night to Shine – Westside Community Church 2/8/2019
    • Please volunteer and let us know about potential special needs attendees
  • Shop with a Cop – ABA helped sponsor Shop with a Cop
    • The recent BSD threats created a “Lock Out” which cancelled Shop with a Cop, so they did all the shopping for the kids and hosted a holiday party for the kids and their families.  Over 100 people came, every family was able to attend (all families are under privileged) Events like this fosters good relationships with law enforcement. It turned out well and gave opportunity to interact with the families
  • TVWD – federal funding helpful in keeping rate increases under double digits, rates going up because of need of seismic upgrades, etc
