  • Board meets first Thursday of each month,. They are at 8 am at Schmidt and Yee and you are welcome to attend

A – Treasurer Report – Michael Holcomb – 417.38 funds available in bank, cash flow for January $60 in and $240.48 out.  

B – Membership Report – Mike Schmidt – 1 renewing member, 70 members total

  • Spotlight Member of the Month – Aloha Community Library Association.  Video is posted to our website (we will do this each month for our Spotlight member).

E – Aloha High School Report – Tabitha McCampbell

  • High School group will be working in fall on social media activities for members
  • Aloha Marketing program offering – logo and name on softball flyers, special offers, etc on posters and flyers.  If interested please email Monique Coleman monique_coleman@beaverton.k12.or.us

4 – Guest Speaker – Deanna Palm – Hillsboro Chamber President

How to use your business as an outreach to diversify your clients

  • Considers use of Softball Advertising offered by Aloha to be a great way to get name out
  • Logo is important in getting your name out and attention drawn.  
  • Chamber relies on business membership
  • May 20th Latino Cultural Festival 12 – Sunday 5pm.
    • 10-12,000 regular attendance
    • Local elementary schools participate by research and presentation of different areas
    • Vendors – booths available at nominal cost
  • “Connected” Hispanic networking outreach program
  • Centerpiece of Hillsboro chamber is advocacy.  Care about regulations affecting and impacting businesses.  Chamber visits City Council and legislative meetings
  • Anyone can join
  • Relationship with KUIK – Chamber does radio program which interview 2 businesses a week.
  • ExOfficios on board which allow continued connection with Washington county. ( esp important to “unincorporated areas”)

    • To grow and support a library that serves as a gateway to lifelong learning and enrichment for our community

    • 24692 visited throughout year
    • 1324 neighbors attended programs through the past year
    • Library runs on volunteers
    • ¾ of funds to operate library comes from WCCLS
