A local through and through, Scott Rennie grew up in Southwest Portland, and attended school in Beaverton. After graduating from Valley Catholic High School, Scott attended Oregon State University, completing his B.S. in Biology. Upon returning from Corvallis, Scott worked in the field of molecular biology studying genetic deficiencies that lead to certain types of childhood leukemia at Oregon Health Sciences University. While winding up a research grant, Scott provided technical guidance to OHSU attorneys pursuing a patent related to his lab's research and became interested in pursuing a legal career.

Scott attended Willamette University College of Law, during his final year of school, Scott gained invaluable litigation experience clerking at the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office prosecuting misdemeanors and managing the County's deferred sentencing program for first time domestic abuse offenders. After graduating, Scott spent a year providing litigation support, corporate services, and intellectual property advice to clients of a local patent attorney. This experience brought him to a boutique full-service firm where he gained experience working with larger businesses, and more complex transactions. After leaving the city to embark on a solo-practice, Scott continued to focus on providing corporate legal services to small and medium sized businesses.

Scott's practice is focused on business entity formation, corporate governance, corporate transactions, and intellectual property prosecution and licensing including trademark, copyright, and trade secret protections. Scott also negotiates real property sales and leases, corporate asset sales and leases, and can assist business with corporate succession planning.

Scott is an aviation enthusiast with a private pilot license, and on a limited basis works with aircraft owners and pilots on aviation related matters.
